ISLE OF BUTE
Easily accessible from the Central Belt, Bute can be accessed via the Wemyss Bay - Rothesay route (30 minute crossing) or via Colintraive - Rhubodach service (5 minute crossing) from the Cowal Peninsula.

FERRY (Wemyss Bay - Rothesay).
ferryFerry operator Caledonian MacBrayne run a service every 45 -60 minutes. (See Timetable). There is no need to book your sailing but you must obtain a ticket prior to boarding. 

By ROAD
Wemyss Bay can be reached by following the M8 west from Glasgow, joining the A78 at Greenock. This takes approximately 45 mins. You can also come up the Ayrshire coast from the south, via Largs, if you are travelling north from England via Carlisle it's easier and quicker to use the A74 north to Glasgow and join the M8 west..

By PLANE (Via Glasgow Airport)
planeTake a 5 minute taxi ride to Paisley (Gilmour Street Station) and join the train to Wemyss Bay. Trains run regularly and takes approx 40 mins.
